Review of Mago Vice El Mago CigarBy: Gary Manelski Mago Vice by El Mago Cigars is a Smoke Inn exclusive cigar made with a Mexican San Andreas wrapper, Habano binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. They are available at Smoke Inn in one box-pressed Toro (6 x 54) size priced at $16.50 per stick. The cigar sampled for this review was sold in a designer “box-pressed” rectangular metal tube, which can be reused to hold other box-pressed cigars of the same size or smaller. A great choice for yourself or to give as a gift on any occasion. The Mago Vice cigar delivered a naturally sweet tobacco taste right from the start that was quickly joined by just the right amount of spice. An earthy flavor emerged a few puffs later and was very well balanced with the spice and sweetness. The smoke was in the medium-to-full bodied range and together with the flavors, remained pretty consistent throughout the duration of the smoking session. The cigar was very well made and had a great draw, mostly even burn, and held a long ash. I ashed the cigar three times at 20-minute intervals, and continued smoking down to 1½ inches remaining, which took a total of 75 minutes from start to finish. No relights were required, but one minor touch-up was applied about five minutes after the second ashing to keep the burn even. I enjoyed the Mago Vice cigar all the way through, and rate it with a very good to superior 4+ points on a 5-point scale. You can buy any number of Mago Vice cigars at a Smoke Inn retail store, purchase 5 or 10-packs online, or select 1 to 3 singles when purchasing any five single cigars (or more) via the Smoke Inn Custom Sampler and selecting “El Mago SI Exclusive Mago Vice”. |
